BOOK ONE

The Cat Who Read Tomorrow

Some books preserve the past. This one has come to save the future.

For three years, Warren Kaneko has kept Luna Station's last paper bookshop quiet and orderly. Then a salvage crate arrives through a conservation network that should no longer exist.

Inside, one volume bears fresh handwriting dated decades in the future. The impossible inscription points toward a threatened greenhouse and the singing pipes beneath its soil beds—but not why they matter.

Index, the bookshop's cybernetically augmented seal-point Siamese, seems to know which clues matter before Warren does. To understand what the impossible book is trying to prevent, Warren must step outside the routines that have protected him from grief and trust an unlikely circle of allies before time runs out.

BOOK TWO

The Cat Who Shelved Tomorrow

Index has always known which book a reader needs. Now he’s making his selections before anyone even walks through the door.

At first, his choices lead to small confessions and puzzling clues. Then Index selects a memorial book for Orla Vasickova, a Luna Station water-systems technician who is still alive. The inscription gives her nine days to live.

Warren and his neighbors must learn what the books are trying to tell them while leaving Orla a say in her own future.

Kindle eBook releases February 28, 2027.
